Your search for eternal wisdom, strength, and power ends at the Adi Kailash pilgrimage. Lord Shiva is the creator of time, the past, present, and future. He is also identified as the destroyer of time.
Adi Kailash is one of the oldest abodes of Lord Shiva. It is among the five Panch Kailash. Mount Kailash in Tibet, Manimahesh Kailash, Kinner Kailash, and Shrikhand Kailash are the other four. Adi Kailash is called Chota Kailash or Little Kailash as it replicates Mount Kailash. It is and has the same spiritual importance. As per Indian culture, wherever Shiva spent one cycle of the moon, that place is referred to as Kailash.
Adi Kailash is in the Pithoragarh district in the Kumaon region of the Himalayas in Uttarakhand. It is close to the Indo-Tibetian border. It is the most sought pilgrimage as it is a way of life and self-exploration. It is imbibing the true spirit of nature, adventure, and God together.
During this spiritual journey, you will see Jageshwar Dham, Parvati Sarovar, Gauri Kund, Pandav fort, Kunti Parvat, Kali Temple, and Narayan Ashram. The trek starts from Pithoragarh. It is a 7-day high-altitude pilgrimage at 15,500 ft.
According to the scriptures, Lord Shiva’s biggest admirer, Ravana came from Lanka to Adi Kailash to pray to Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva resided on Mt. Kailash along with his wife Goddess Parvati and Kids Ganesha and Kartikeya. Hence the trek to Adi Kailash holds religious and spiritual importance to the Hindu way of life and devout Lord Shiva devotees.
Om Parvat
The name itself speaks for itself. The symbol ॐ (AUM) is naturally formed by snow on the mountain. It looks like God itself has engraved his presence by his symbol in the snow on the mountain, the rest of the mountains seem barren without snow. Om Parvat is close to Adi Kailash and they can be visited together. One will feel the ominous feeling of God’s presence amidst the giant snow-covered Himalayan mountains.
